A rebuild is the wrong answer: too expensive for the occasion, and the customer does not even want the site to look different. Live makes the existing site editable without touching it.
Embed the files
Two files on the web space, one line in the page. Nothing changes for visitors – no extra loading bar, no visible trace.
Sign in
Each editor signs in with their own name and password and then sees a pencil next to every text and every image.
Change and save
Type directly on the live page. Saving writes the change back – no preview window, no publish button in the third menu.
